What We Treat

Stubborn Fat & Body Contouring

Non-surgical treatment planning for Delray Beach, Boca Raton and nearby Palm Beach County

Some localized areas remain noticeable despite weight stability, exercise and changes in diet. At Dash, non-surgical body contouring primarily means evaluating whether CoolSculpting is a reasonable option for reducing selected pockets of pinchable fat.

CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss procedure and does not treat obesity, loose skin, visceral fat or cellulite. The first step is identifying what is actually creating the contour concern.

Assessment comes before treatment.

The area must contain treatable, pinchable fat. Loose skin, visceral fat, bloating or muscle separation require a different plan.

Body Concerns Are Not Interchangeable

Fat, loose skin and cellulite require different treatment goals

Before choosing a procedure, we determine which tissue or feature is actually responsible for the area that bothers you.

01

Pinchable subcutaneous fat

Localized fat beneath the skin may be considered for CoolSculpting when the area, applicator fit and health history are appropriate.

02

Loose or lax skin

Skin laxity can make an area look fuller even when there is not enough fat to treat. CoolSculpting is not general body skin tightening.

03

Cellulite, puffiness or texture

Cellulite dimpling and temporary puffiness are different from localized fat. Endosphères addresses a separate body-texture goal.

A larger or firm abdomen can also reflect visceral fat, bloating, muscle separation or a hernia. These concerns are not treated by freezing the superficial fat layer.

What Non-Surgical Contouring Can Do

Change the outline of a selected area—not create overall weight loss

CoolSculpting uses controlled cooling to reduce selected fat cells in an FDA-cleared treatment area. The body gradually processes the affected cells.

The result is usually a localized contour change, not a dramatic change on the scale.

A person may need multiple cycles or more than one visit to treat the full shape of an area. Individual results vary.

Common FDA-Cleared Treatment Areas

The applicator has to fit the area and the tissue

A listed area is not automatically treatable on every person. The tissue still needs to be assessed in person.

1

Abdomen

Upper or lower abdominal pockets depending on anatomy and applicator fit.

2

Flanks

Localized side-waist fullness commonly called love handles.

3

Chin or jawline

Selected submental and submandibular fat.

4

Upper arms

Localized arm fat; loose skin may remain.

5

Inner or outer thighs

Selected thigh contours based on tissue thickness.

6

Bra or back fat

Small localized bulges around the bra line or upper back.

7

Banana roll

The small pocket beneath the buttock crease.

8

Combination areas

Multiple placements may be needed to treat the overall contour.

How We Build the Plan

We map the full contour before counting treatment cycles

Two people asking about the same body area can need different numbers of placements.

1

Confirm the tissue is treatable

We assess pinchable fat and screen for recent surgery, hernia, cold-related conditions and other contraindications.

2

Map shape and symmetry

We determine how many placements are needed to cover the full contour rather than one small spot.

3

Set expectations

We explain likely change, timing, possible repeat treatment and what CoolSculpting will not correct.

Who May—or May Not—Be a Candidate

The assessment matters more than the name of the body area

It may be worth discussing when

  • You have a localized, pinchable pocket despite a stable routine.
  • Your goal is a moderate contour change rather than weight loss.
  • Your weight is reasonably stable.
  • You accept temporary numbness, swelling, tenderness or bruising.
  • You understand that multiple cycles may be recommended.

A different next step may be needed when

  • The concern is mainly loose skin, cellulite, visceral fat or muscle separation.
  • You want substantial weight loss or a surgical-level change.
  • The area has recent surgery, suspected hernia, altered sensation or poor circulation.
  • You have a cold-related blood disorder or another contraindication.
  • You are pregnant or need medical clearance first.

Important Safety Information

Non-surgical does not mean risk-free

Common temporary effects can include redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tenderness, aching, tingling, itching, numbness or altered sensation.

A rare complication called paradoxical adipose hyperplasia can cause the treated area to enlarge rather than shrink. It may appear months later, does not resolve on its own and can require surgery.

CoolSculpting should not be performed in people with cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. Disclose pregnancy, recent surgery, hernia concerns and medical conditions before treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Stubborn fat and body-contouring expectations

Is CoolSculpting a weight-loss treatment?

No. It is intended for selected visible fat bulges in FDA-cleared areas and changes a localized contour rather than overall body weight.

How do I know whether the area is fat or loose skin?

Pinchable fullness may contain treatable fat, while thin, crepey or hanging tissue may be mainly loose skin. Many areas contain both, so an assessment is needed.

How many cycles will I need?

The number depends on the size, shape and symmetry of the area and how many placements are needed to cover the full contour.

How quickly will I see a change?

The change develops gradually as the body processes treated fat cells. Early improvement may appear within several weeks, but final evaluation takes longer.

Can CoolSculpting treat cellulite?

No. Cellulite is a different concern. Learn about Endosphères Therapy for cellulite appearance and temporary puffiness.

Are treated fat cells gone permanently?

The affected fat cells are eliminated from the treated area. Remaining fat cells can still enlarge with future weight gain.

What does treatment feel like?

People may feel pulling, pressure, pinching, intense cold, tingling, aching or cramping before the area becomes numb.

How much does body contouring cost?

Pricing depends on the number of treatment cycles. View current CoolSculpting pricing.
